Every time it is different people. One does not pick up, the second will come on Tuesday, the third charges time and a half because it is Friday. The work has stopped, and you are choosing not by skill but by who answered.
An engineer on call, and the price is known in advance
An hour of work costs the same on a Wednesday afternoon and on a Friday evening: we have no out-of-hours rate. Time is counted in thirty-minute steps, so ten minutes of work does not cost you an hour.
Who fixes it is not a lottery. An engineer is assigned to your company — one who remembers what you run and what we have already touched — and behind them stands a team: one person's holiday or illness is not your problem.
If the calls become frequent, hours are cheaper bought in a block in advance.

Questions
Do you charge more if it breaks in the evening or at the weekend?
No. In the evening and at the weekend an hour costs what it costs on a Wednesday afternoon: an emergency hour and a planned hour are not different things here. An out-of-hours rate is a charge for being unlucky with the timing, and we do not levy it.
Why is an hours bank better than paying as you go?
The price of the hour and the queue. A block of fifty hours works out at $100 an hour instead of $112, and the hours are already paid for — so there is nothing to approve for every small thing. A block is valid for twelve months.
What happens to the hours we did not use?
They sit there for twelve months and are used up as work is done. The balance is visible in the report, so you will not have to work out at the end of the term how many you have left. They can be spent on any of the work listed above.
We call you every week. Is that normal?
It is expensive. When the calls are frequent it is cheaper to pay monthly: the updates, the protection and the inventory are done in advance rather than after a breakdown. We will say so ourselves once we see it in your hours.
