How many machines are still on the old system?

Usually nobody knows the exact number. Some machines updated on their own. Some refused and said nothing. Two of them run a program that will not start on the new system. Security updates no longer reach them, and only the person who looked knows it.

Everyone keeps working during the migration

You get a list: which machine gets upgraded, which one just needs more memory and a new disk, which is cheaper to replace outright — and a price for each. You decide, not us on the fly.

Then the machines move one after another, a few a day, and each goes back to its owner the same day. Files, mail, bookmarks, printers and work programs all move across. The old machine sits untouched beside it for a week.

A machine that stays on the old system for now is covered by a paid update extension — it is called ESU.

We have a program that will not run on the new system.

We find those machines during the inventory and never touch them blind. From there, two ways: update the program itself, or leave the machine on the old system and buy it a paid update extension. What is chosen for each machine is written down before work starts.

What is ESU and what is it for?

It is a paid extension of security updates for machines that stay on the old system for now. The Microsoft price doubles every year: $61, $122 and $244 for the first, second and third year. We pass it on at the Microsoft invoice, markup $0.00.

Upgrade or replace — how do you tell?

By the inventory. A machine that meets the requirements is upgraded for $130; one that does not is replaced, and the work costs $175 plus the machine itself at the supplier invoice. You get the list with a price for every machine before we start.
